What's Been Going on in my Life

Of course most of you know that I am busily promoting Raging Water, the latest in the Deputy Tempe Crabtree mystery series--and that is taking a lot of my time. I'm sure unless you've done it, you don't realize just how much time.

I send out reminders a week ahead to everyone who is scheduled. The morning of a blog post, I check to make sure it's there and leave a comment. I promote it everywhere--my lists, Facebook and Twitter, and some of the groups I belong to on Facebook. I go back and check and different times during the day so I can keep a list of those who commented and respond to them.

But that's only part of what's been going on.

One of my son-in-laws lost his mother one week after burying his father. So sad and so hard on him and my daughter.

We had a brand new baby born into our family (#13 great-grandchild), Aleena. She is the first child of a granddaughter who once lived with me during the week while going to school and then she and her whole family moved in next door. So I was privvy to a lot that was going on in her life. Now she and her hubby live in North Caroline and most of our contact is through Facebook.

When Aleena was born her husband let us all know. Of course we were excited. When she went home I called her and we talked for about a half hour. Then something happened. The baby got sick and had to be rushed back to the hospital. I let everyone I know who prays and of course my hubby and I prayed. The baby and her parents spent two more days in the hospital when the baby was treated and tests made. Praise God, she is now fine and back home.
Aleena, home the second time--and happy!

On a more mundane note, hubby and I picked out some new furniture which arrived on Saturday. We did lots of moving things around and realized we are not as young or able as we once were. Except for the piano, everything is in place. We need more muscle for the piano. I didn't put plastic on the news couches and chair like they did in the old days, but I did put matching throws over them to keep some of the cat hair down--and for hubby's chair because he likes to eat and drink coffee and juice while watching TV.

I teach Sunday School to kids from 3rd grade through 6th, though I have one girl who is in 7th that doesn't want to go into the older class. Mostly I have girls and I love them dearly. My son-in-law is the preacher at our church, and my oldest great grandson is a preacher in training and preaches once a month. Being with my church family (and some of my real family) is a great way to start the week.

One thing I don't ever complain about is being bored--there's far too much going on.

Thank you, Anne. I'm delighted that her mom is sending lots of photos as she lives far away and I won't get to see her in person anytime soon.
