My Next Rocky Bluff P.D. Mystery

I'm about 16,000 words in the next Rocky Bluff P.D. mystery. And though many have said they won't read a book with Covid 19 in it, I really didn't think I could avoid it. The dastardly pandemic is with us and who knows how long it will linger.

My last book in the series, Bones in the Attic, was set around Halloween. So this new one is going to be in the spring of the following year.

To be honest, I'm having fun writing this because everyone has so many conflicting ideas about the sickness, where it came from, how many have gotten it, how best to treat it, if masks really help, is this a new way for the government to control  us, and this one--it's a natural 100 year way of population control.

I've enjoyed figuring out which of my characters would embrace which theory/or truth, how the police department will handle itself, who will be affected by the disease. And of course, there are plenty of mysteries going on. Plus a new officer has been hired and this time Gordon Butler's wife, Lizette, is the training office.

I think this will work because the main thrust of this series is the characters--what is happening in their lives.

But if I don't get busy writing, it won't get done.
