What's Happening in My Life

Wish I could say I've been working on my mystery, but I haven't. I have been writing, but it's the kind that brings in money. Not easy work because each one I do is so different.

On top of that, I've got something wrong with my ankle--slowly getting better, but not well yet.

I've had this swelling off and on for a few months. Went to the podiatrist and he thinks it's arthritis. W

For my birthday we went to the Underground Gardens--which is wonderful--but I did too much walking. And even with the aid of a walker, it really made my ankle worse. Could hardly walk the next day. Big pain! Went to see a nurse practitioner and she gave me different meds and instructions to keep my ankle elevated--which I've done, and it's better.

My husband turned 90 and our kids threw a big party, only relatives invited--which meant nearly 50 people turned up, grands, great grands, and 4 great great grands and spouses. We were still missing one, great-great, and several grands and greats.

What a great time! We have some wonderful photographs, and got to spend time with loved ones we don't get to see that often.


This was the dinner on Thursday night at Don Vino's, 3 of our kids and spouses. Outside dining on the patio.

We have lots more photos, but I can't remember what I filed them under.

Anyway, that's what's kept me busy.

Like I do with many folks, I met Morgen through the Internet when I learned about the great interviews she does. I thought it would be fun to turn the tables on Morgen and find out something things about her, so here goes: Morgen, except for the fact that you do terrific interviews I know very little about you. Today is My Birthday!

I never thought I'd live this long! The last few years, birthday celebrations have usually been a nice dinner out in a restaurant. Hard to do these days. Sometimes cake and ice cream is how we celebrate. This year my granddaughter, Melissa, is doing something special. She's taking her grandpa and me to a place about 1 1/2 hours away for lunch, called The Secret Garden. I've not only never been there, but I've never heard of it. I took a peek on the Internet and it looks like a beautiful place to celebrate most anything. Yes, I'm excited. I'll take pictures and report on it when I get back. Melissa is special. Everyone loves here, young and old alike. I was in the delivery room when she was born--exciting and wonderous. I babysat her many times until her mom and dad moved to Central California.
