L.A. Times Book Festival


I'm writing this in anticipation of what I'll be doing today. I'm attending the L.A. Time Book Festival on the U.C.L.A. campus today, Saturday the 25th and tomorrow, Sunday, the 26th.

I'll be signing copies of No Sanctuary in Booth # 610 in Section F from 1 to 2 on both days.

On Sunday, I'll also be at the Sisters in Crime booth from 10 to 12. That booth is located right in the middle of things. I'll be signing copies of Kindred Spirits as well as No Sanctuary.

Anyone who buys a book from me at either booth will get a free copy of Deadly Omen, the first book in the Deputy Tempe Crabtree series.

Meet Morgen Bailey from the UK

Like I do with many folks, I met Morgen through the Internet when I learned about the great interviews she does. I thought it would be fun to turn the tables on Morgen and find out something things about her, so here goes: Morgen, except for the fact that you do terrific interviews I know very little about you. Today is My Birthday!

I never thought I'd live this long! The last few years, birthday celebrations have usually been a nice dinner out in a restaurant. Hard to do these days. Sometimes cake and ice cream is how we celebrate. This year my granddaughter, Melissa, is doing something special. She's taking her grandpa and me to a place about 1 1/2 hours away for lunch, called The Secret Garden. I've not only never been there, but I've never heard of it. I took a peek on the Internet and it looks like a beautiful place to celebrate most anything. Yes, I'm excited. I'll take pictures and report on it when I get back. Melissa is special. Everyone loves here, young and old alike. I was in the delivery room when she was born--exciting and wonderous. I babysat her many times until her mom and dad moved to Central California.
