What's Next on the Agenda

Though I'm starting a new Deputy Tempe Crabtree mystery and in January a new Rocky Bluff P.D. crime novel is coming, out I still have to plan my promotion for the end of the year and for next.

Coming up, I'm heading to Temecula for the Erle Stanley Gardner Festival on Saturday and I'll be speaking at 10 a.m. in the Sr. Center behind the museum. The following Tuesday I'll be the speaker for the Porterville Rotary Club. Also coming up is a book store event and two days in December at the Porterville Art Gallery.

I'd love to have some more library events as well as service and social club events and I'll be searching out more craft fairs--but none in the middle of summer.

Of course I'm already lined up for several conferences in 2010, Epicon in New Orleans, Mayhem in the Midlands in Omaha, and of course the Public Safety Writers Association's conference in Las Vegas and in the fall, Bouchercon in San Francisco.

As usual, I'm being optimistic and planning ahead.

Anyone know of some places that would like to have me come and speak?

Meet Morgen Bailey from the UK

Like I do with many folks, I met Morgen through the Internet when I learned about the great interviews she does. I thought it would be fun to turn the tables on Morgen and find out something things about her, so here goes: Morgen, except for the fact that you do terrific interviews I know very little about you. Today is My Birthday!

I never thought I'd live this long! The last few years, birthday celebrations have usually been a nice dinner out in a restaurant. Hard to do these days. Sometimes cake and ice cream is how we celebrate. This year my granddaughter, Melissa, is doing something special. She's taking her grandpa and me to a place about 1 1/2 hours away for lunch, called The Secret Garden. I've not only never been there, but I've never heard of it. I took a peek on the Internet and it looks like a beautiful place to celebrate most anything. Yes, I'm excited. I'll take pictures and report on it when I get back. Melissa is special. Everyone loves here, young and old alike. I was in the delivery room when she was born--exciting and wonderous. I babysat her many times until her mom and dad moved to Central California.
