My Friend Inspired Miqui Sherwood

 






One of the major characters in RAGING WATER is based on a friend of mine who asked to be put in one of my books.

We had a big celebration for the promotion of the book (this wasn't it, but I had this photo.) We met at the then Springville Inn--which appears just as the Inn in most of the Deputy Temep Crabtree mysteries.

I served a cake that was decoarted like the cover.

I talked about the story and sold books.

Later, readers told me that I'd captured my friends personality. Since then, she's been in a couple more books--and is a star in the one I'm writing now.

Like I do with many folks, I met Morgen through the Internet when I learned about the great interviews she does. I thought it would be fun to turn the tables on Morgen and find out something things about her, so here goes: Morgen, except for the fact that you do terrific interviews I know very little about you. Today is My Birthday!

I never thought I'd live this long! The last few years, birthday celebrations have usually been a nice dinner out in a restaurant. Hard to do these days. Sometimes cake and ice cream is how we celebrate. This year my granddaughter, Melissa, is doing something special. She's taking her grandpa and me to a place about 1 1/2 hours away for lunch, called The Secret Garden. I've not only never been there, but I've never heard of it. I took a peek on the Internet and it looks like a beautiful place to celebrate most anything. Yes, I'm excited. I'll take pictures and report on it when I get back. Melissa is special.
