Missing My Sis
When I was five and spoiled, and an only child and an only grandchild and niece on my mother's side, my baby sister came along and ruined everything. She was so cute and everyone was thrilled that she'd joined our family. I was too, though I really did have to take a back seat. I will say though, being the big sister made me feel really grown up. And nobody seemed to worry much about where I went or how long I was gone. As a result, I visited the two old people who lived in a house that looked like it came out of a fairy tale at least once a day--and they always gave me cookies and milk. I also hung out with the older kids who let me do all kinds of exciting and looking back, dangerous things with them.
