My Aunties

Why I got to thinking about my aunts, I have no idea, but they were most interesting women. I'll begin with my great-aunt Flossie. She had her own ice-cream shop when she was still a teen, a most prosperous place. She met and fell in love with her husband and became a rancher's wife. I don't remember a whole lot about their ranch, though I think they raised sheep. She was a great cook. (Flossie is one of the characters in my historical family saga,  Trail to Glory. My mom's sister was also named Flossie. What a fun auntie. She always helped me with art projects for school and came up with great and unusual ideas. She was a teacher, mainly music. She could really play the piano, mostly church songs. Well into her late 80s she was still playing the piano for her church. I heard stories that she was a bit on the wild side as a young woman with many beaus. Her marriage failed, though she had one daughter, and in her senior years, she and her husband reunited.
