It's That Time of Year Again

Image
Too much on my plate. (Maybe that's anytime of the year.) Wasn't even paying attention to the fact I didn't have anything new on my blog--because I had so much else going on.  In my normal life, the big memorial day weekend is coming up--for me it's going to be a time to do a bit of catch-up and writing (hopefully). On Monday we celebrate a great-grands 14th birthday. She's special because she began her life right here in our home. We've had her breezing in and out the past 14 years. I've been spending some time doing promotion. A radio interview for a station in Wisconsin at 6:35 a.m. Because my household is noisy at this time in the morning. I did the interview in our bathroom. Worked great--nice and soundproof. And no, it didn't echo, old house, big room, no tile. I signed up for a book festival that's happening in October--The Big Valley Bookfest. I've been to this one several times. Last year, I got sick and couldn't s...

Juggling, Juggling, Jugglinc

And what am I juggling? Writing my next Deputy Tempe Crabtree book. Planning Promotion for my upcoming Rocky Bluff P.D. mystery, Murder in the Worst Degree , expected in March. Ordinary household chores--you know, doing laundry, cooking dinner. And life in general. Just to give you a taste of a few days of juggling: After getting ready for the day, scanned emails, answered most important. Do this everyday. Did some preliminary promo about a blog I was a guest on:   http://pat-writersforum.blogspot.com/ Sunday, I taught a Sunday School class, 3rd to 6th graders, then church. Out to lunch with family. (Super bowl not something any of us really care about.) On Sunday, I always spend the afternoon with hubby--though I do take some sneak peeks at email and Facebook--and I go to bed early almost every night. Monday I sent hubby off with a list of errands. Did the laundry and made dinner in a crokpot. Squeezed in a bit of writing. Around 15 of 11 we...

Life Getting in the Way of Writing

I've written about this before, but it seems like a good time to write about it again. It's holiday time, I have presents to wrap, meals to plan. I'm the chief cook around here (because I like to cook) and that means grocery shopping and coming up with ideas for what to fix. My granddaughter--the one who lived with me off and on during her growing up years--is getting married. There is lots of excitement and planning in the air about that--though all I'll be doing is attending the wedding. Since she and her mom and dad live in a house on our property, I get to hear a lot about what's going on. Hubby will be having cataract surgery some time soon. That's going to be something I'll have to deal with too--I've had two cataract surgeries and I know he won't be up to doing a whole lot for a few days. At the end of the week I have an event, on Friday December 10 and Saturday December 11 I'll be spending all day at the Porterville Art Gallery on...
