Getting over the flu or something

For the last two and a half weeks I've been plagued with a cough and runny nose. Finally, I think I'm beginning to recover. Thanks goodness, I have a full calendar ahead.

Though I've done a bit of writing on my latest Deputy Tempe Crabtree book, not nearly what I'd like. I did work on the ghost writing project I've been assigned to and I think we're near the completion of it.

My copies of Fringe Benefits are on the way, so it's time to gear up for the promotion of that one. I need to set a date for the launch, I have the place, just need to find a good day for the flower/gift shop where it's going to be held.

Fringe Benefits is for sale on my website now. Anyone who wants a preview copy can go ahead and order one and I'll get it off to you as soon as it arrives.

Next Wednesday we'll be leaving for Seattle and Left Coast Crime. I'm really looking forward to it as I know a lot of my good writing friends will be there. The down side to that is we have to be at the airport by at least 5:30 a.m. which means getting up at 2:30 a.m. in order to get there on time. I am smart enough to go to bed early so I can get some sleep, my husband thinks he has to stay up until midnight every night.

I'll be back to give a report on Left Coast Crime.

Like I do with many folks, I met Morgen through the Internet when I learned about the great interviews she does. I thought it would be fun to turn the tables on Morgen and find out something things about her, so here goes: Morgen, except for the fact that you do terrific interviews I know very little about you. Today is My Birthday!

I never thought I'd live this long! The last few years, birthday celebrations have usually been a nice dinner out in a restaurant. Hard to do these days. Sometimes cake and ice cream is how we celebrate. This year my granddaughter, Melissa, is doing something special. She's taking her grandpa and me to a place about 1 1/2 hours away for lunch, called The Secret Garden. I've not only never been there, but I've never heard of it. I took a peek on the Internet and it looks like a beautiful place to celebrate most anything. Yes, I'm excited. I'll take pictures and report on it when I get back. Melissa is special. Everyone loves here, young and old alike. I was in the delivery room when she was born--exciting and wonderous. I babysat her many times until her mom and dad moved to Central California.
