West Coast Author's Premiere/Bank of Books

On Saturday, July 12, I'll be at the West Coast Author's Premiere at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at the beach in Ventura from 10 to 3. At 10:30 a.m., I'm going to give a presentation on electronic publishing.

At 4, I'll be at the Bank of Books in downtown Ventura speaking about How to Write a Mystery. I'll have handouts for both presentations.

And as an aside, on Friday night before the event, hubby and I are spending the night in a haunted room at the Bella Maggoire Bed and Breakfast in downtown Ventura. How much fun is that?

Meet Morgen Bailey from the UK

Like I do with many folks, I met Morgen through the Internet when I learned about the great interviews she does. I thought it would be fun to turn the tables on Morgen and find out something things about her, so here goes: Morgen, except for the fact that you do terrific interviews I know very little about you. Today is My Birthday!

I never thought I'd live this long! The last few years, birthday celebrations have usually been a nice dinner out in a restaurant. Hard to do these days. Sometimes cake and ice cream is how we celebrate. This year my granddaughter, Melissa, is doing something special. She's taking her grandpa and me to a place about 1 1/2 hours away for lunch, called The Secret Garden. I've not only never been there, but I've never heard of it. I took a peek on the Internet and it looks like a beautiful place to celebrate most anything. Yes, I'm excited. I'll take pictures and report on it when I get back. Melissa is special. Everyone loves here, young and old alike. I was in the delivery room when she was born--exciting and wonderous. I babysat her many times until her mom and dad moved to Central California.
