PSWA Conference; Michael and Lai Orenduff



We all know the old saying "Don't Judge a Book By Its Cover" but it's a fact that covers do sell books. Michael and Lai Orenduff will be telling and showing us "A Good Cover is Worth a Thousand Words."

Lai is an art historian who specializes in the poser of images. Michael is going to be operating the projector as they review the best and worst of covers and explain what a cover ought to do for the book and how a cover can do it.

Michael Orenduff is the author of the most wonderful POT THIEF series that is available from all the usual places--and published by Oak Tree Press.

A cover can mean the difference between someone picking up your book and someone passing it by. I'm glad you're offering this workshop this year.

Meet Morgen Bailey from the UK

Like I do with many folks, I met Morgen through the Internet when I learned about the great interviews she does. I thought it would be fun to turn the tables on Morgen and find out something things about her, so here goes: Morgen, except for the fact that you do terrific interviews I know very little about you. Today is My Birthday!

I never thought I'd live this long! The last few years, birthday celebrations have usually been a nice dinner out in a restaurant. Hard to do these days. Sometimes cake and ice cream is how we celebrate. This year my granddaughter, Melissa, is doing something special. She's taking her grandpa and me to a place about 1 1/2 hours away for lunch, called The Secret Garden. I've not only never been there, but I've never heard of it. I took a peek on the Internet and it looks like a beautiful place to celebrate most anything. Yes, I'm excited. I'll take pictures and report on it when I get back. Melissa is special.
