One of My Favorite Roommates

I've known Lorie Ham for a long time, first because she was a fellow Sister in Crime, San Joaquin chapter.

Before we knew each other very well, we roomed together in Anchorage Alaska for Left Coast Crime, many years ago. What a sweetie. I got in late (or early in the a.m.) and she'd left the light on for him in the room.

We had a great time at that LCC.

After that, she arranged some great speaking engagements that I was a part of for various Fresno libraries.

On a more personal note, Lorie and her children performed at our church one Sunday. Lorie is a gospel singer and does a great presentation. Her daughter and son were little.

Since then the children have become teenagers. Time passes quickly.

Like I do with many folks, I met Morgen through the Internet when I learned about the great interviews she does. I thought it would be fun to turn the tables on Morgen and find out something things about her, so here goes: Morgen, except for the fact that you do terrific interviews I know very little about you. So here goes with my battery of questions. First, tell me something about your background, including where you live. Thank you Marilyn. I live in Middle England really; Northampton. About as far away from water as you can get (3 hours) which I don’t quite understand as I love water; every picture (actually subconsciously until a friend pointed it out) in my house contains water. Today is My Birthday!

I never thought I'd live this long! The last few years, birthday celebrations have usually been a nice dinner out in a restaurant. Hard to do these days. Sometimes cake and ice cream is how we celebrate. This year my granddaughter, Melissa, is doing something special. She's taking her grandpa and me to a place about 1 1/2 hours away for lunch, called The Secret Garden. I've not only never been there, but I've never heard of it. I took a peek on the Internet and it looks like a beautiful place to celebrate most anything. Yes, I'm excited. I'll take pictures and report on it when I get back. Melissa is special. Everyone loves here, young and old alike. I was in the delivery room when she was born--exciting and wonderous. I babysat her many times until her mom and dad moved to Central California.
