A Writers Jumble and Veteran's Day

Today is Veteran's Day. I live with a veteran who spent 20 years in the Sea Bees. He traveled all over while the kids and I stayed home, and he served three tours in Vietnam during the war.

He's not like a lot of vets, he's not interested in belonging to any of the veteran's groups he says its because he doesn't like hearing those war stories being told over and over. He also doesn't want to go to the Veteran's Day parade we have every year near where we live.

He does like to watch war movies--and usually criticizes all the mistakes he sees. He's happy to see people greet service men warmly in airports--it wasn't like that in the Vietnam War.

I'll celebrate Veteran's Day by being happy my vet is home with me today.

Like I do with many folks, I met Morgen through the Internet when I learned about the great interviews she does. I thought it would be fun to turn the tables on Morgen and find out something things about her, so here goes: Morgen, except for the fact that you do terrific interviews I know very little about you. So here goes with my battery of questions. First, tell me something about your background, including where you live. Thank you Marilyn. I live in Middle England really; Northampton. Today is My Birthday!

I never thought I'd live this long! The last few years, birthday celebrations have usually been a nice dinner out in a restaurant. Hard to do these days. Sometimes cake and ice cream is how we celebrate. This year my granddaughter, Melissa, is doing something special. She's taking her grandpa and me to a place about 1 1/2 hours away for lunch, called The Secret Garden. I've not only never been there, but I've never heard of it. I took a peek on the Internet and it looks like a beautiful place to celebrate most anything. Yes, I'm excited. I'll take pictures and report on it when I get back. Melissa is special. Everyone loves here, young and old alike. I was in the delivery room when she was born--exciting and wonderous. I babysat her many times until her mom and dad moved to Central California.
