Contest Winners and Results of my Blog Tour for Raging Water

On this blog tour I had a lot more new people who left comments. In fact, I had more people who left comments than ever before. I attribute that to three things, using a few blogs I'd never used before, promoting on Facebook groups, and the blog owners promoting places that I didn't.

I'll be doing a tour for my next Rocky Bluff P.D. mystery which will come out after the first of the year and I'll use what I learned from this tour for that one. Anyone who'd like to host me for that tour should email me at mmeredith@ocsnet.net

On this tour for Raging Water I had a contest for the person who left the most comments to have a character in my next book named after him/her. The winner is Lorna Collins! It will be another Deputy Tempe Crabtree mystery and the working title is Spirit Shapes.

I have a second winner--one who followed right along behind her--and that is Jake Blinco. He will have a character named for him in the next Rocky Bluff P.D. mystery which will be out in the first part of 2013 and the working title for it is Dangerous Impulses.

Doing a blog tour is gobs of work--but it is also fun or I wouldn't do it.

I planned on skipping Sundays this time, but there were people who wanted me on Sundays. I still don't think as many people visit a Sunday blog as they do other days.

It is imperative to get the word out about each blog as it appears. The link needs to appear in as many places as possible: Facebook, Twitter (it's great when others retweet), groups on Facebook, DorothyL, and any lists that you happen to be on.

I've received some wonderful reviews of Raging Water and would be thrilled with any new ones.

Like I do with many folks, I met Morgen through the Internet when I learned about the great interviews she does. I thought it would be fun to turn the tables on Morgen and find out something things about her, so here goes: Morgen, except for the fact that you do terrific interviews I know very little about you. Today is My Birthday!

I never thought I'd live this long! The last few years, birthday celebrations have usually been a nice dinner out in a restaurant. Hard to do these days. Sometimes cake and ice cream is how we celebrate. This year my granddaughter, Melissa, is doing something special. She's taking her grandpa and me to a place about 1 1/2 hours away for lunch, called The Secret Garden. I've not only never been there, but I've never heard of it. I took a peek on the Internet and it looks like a beautiful place to celebrate most anything. Yes, I'm excited. I'll take pictures and report on it when I get back. Melissa is special.
