MURDER, MYSTERY AND MAYHEM: IT'S ALL ABOUT SEX
Murder, Mystery,
and Mayhem: It’s All About Sex
PSWA Conference Topic
In
this presentation, Honora Finkelstein
and Susan Smiley will offer a
sweeping historical look at how gender issues are at the core of all the best
and the worst of human motivations. From the Trojan War to the building of the
great European cathedrals, from Renaissance art to modern peacemaking
endeavors, our sexual drives and deprivations are at the center of nearly every
tale of murder, mystery, and mayhem. It’s not by accident that when looking for
motives for murder, the French generally say, “Cherchez la femme!” Join Finkelstein
and Smily for an outrageous look at the battle of the sexes.
Honora
Finkelstein and Susan Smily, who together have over 40 years of teaching and writing
experience, were winners of the 2007 “Love Is Murder” Readers’ Choice Award
(the Lovey) for Best First Novel for The Chef Who Died Sautéing and were
nominated for an Agatha Award for that same book. They have three published
novels in their Ariel Quigley cozy mystery series, currently from El Amarna
Publishing, as well as their new thriller Walk-In from Oak Tree Press, which was a PSWA award winner in 2012. Visit
