and angels at war.
Bio: Marilyn
Meredith is the author of over thirty-five published novels, including
the award winning Deputy Tempe Crabtree mystery series. She borrows a
lot from where she lives in the Southern Sierra for the town of Bear
Creek and the surrounding area, including the nearby Tule River Indian
Reservation. She does like to remind everyone that she is writing
fiction. Marilyn is a member of EPIC, three chapters of Sisters in
Crime, Mystery Writers of America, and on the board of the Public Safety
Writers of America. Visit her at http://fictionforyou.com and follow her blog at right here.
As F. M. Meredith, she writes the Rocky Bluff P.D. series. The latest is Dangerous Impulses.
An
attractive new-hire captivates Officer Gordon Butler, Officer Felix
Zachary’s wife Wendy is befuddled by her new baby, Ryan and Barbara
Strickland receive unsettling news about her pregnancy, while the bloody
murder of a mother and her son and an unidentified drug that sickens
teenaged partiers jolts the Rocky Bluff P.D.
F.M.,
also known as Marilyn Meredith, first became interested in writing
about law enforcement when she lived in a neighborhood filled with
police officers and their families. The interest was fanned when her
daughter married a police officer and the tradition has continued with a
grandson and grandson-in-law who are deputies. She’s also serves on the
board of the Public Safety Writers Association, and has many friends in
different law enforcement fields. For twenty plus years, she and her
husband lived in a small beach community located in Southern California
much like the fictional Rocky Bluff. She is a member of three chapters
of Sisters in Crime, Epic, and Mystery Writers of America.
Remember, the person who comments on the most posts on my blog tour will win a copy of the three books that come before No Bells . No Sanctuary is the story of two ministers, two churches, two wives and one murder. Officer Stacey Wilbur and Detective Doug Milligan are a couple in this one despite Stacey's vow not to date anyone on the Rocky Bluff P.D. This is also where she begins her career as the vice officer for the department. An Axe To Grind is about a stalker who loses his head. When Detective Doug Milligan strikes out on his own to investigate a suspect, he disappears. A distraught Stacey follows his trail. In Angel Lost as plans for her perfect wedding fill her mind, Officer Stacey Wilbur is sent out to trap a flasher. The new hire realizes Rocky Bluff P.D. is not the answer to his problem. Abel Navarro can’t concentrate on the job because of worry about his mother. Officer Gordon Butler has his usual upsets. The sudden appearance of an angel in the window of a fu...
I never thought I'd live this long! The last few years, birthday celebrations have usually been a nice dinner out in a restaurant. Hard to do these days. Sometimes cake and ice cream is how we celebrate. This year my granddaughter, Melissa, is doing something special. She's taking her grandpa and me to a place about 1 1/2 hours away for lunch, called The Secret Garden. I've not only never been there, but I've never heard of it. I took a peek on the Internet and it looks like a beautiful place to celebrate most anything. Yes, I'm excited. I'll take pictures and report on it when I get back. Melissa is special. Everyone loves here, young and old alike. I was in the delivery room when she was born--exciting and wonderous. I babysat her many times until her mom and dad moved to Central California. (We live there now. When she was a teen, she came with me when I took the women in my care home to church camp, and was an unbelievable help. I couldn...
Marilyn: I'm so happy I've had the opportunity to really become acquainted with you. For the readers of this post, I first met Madeline at a book fair in Hanford, then again at the Sisters in Crime/MWA conference in Pasadena, and she came to last year's PSWA conference, and she came to my booksigning at my family reunion in Barstow and we were next to each other at a book fair in San Luis Obispo. My first question is, when did you first become interested in writing? Madeline: Hi, Marilyn, great being able to “talk to you” on your blog. Some of my earliest memories are of reading, and wanting to become a writer. Admittedly, there was probably some childhood fantasy type of thinking going on then, because I also remember wanting to be a firefighter, teacher, doctor, and magician. But for sure, the genuine desire to write started very early, and has remained throughout my life. But even with that lifelong desire, and having a couple short stories published “way back when,” I d...
