Happy Thanksgiving!

Besides preparing and eating lots of delicious food, this is the day to give thanks.

We who live in this country have so much to give thanks for. Yes, there are problems, but we have the liberty to complain about the problems in so many forums and except for irritating people who might think differently, no one is going to come looking for us.

On a personal level, I'm thankful for each and everyone of my children, their spouses and all of their offspring. Each one has brought me and my husband great joy over the years.

I'm thankful that I have a personal belief in God and I can worship how I wish. And I'm thankful that He listens and answers my prayers. (Sometimes he says no, and other times, it's not yet, but oh, so many times, a miracle is given.)

I'm thankful for this day that I can spend with some of my family and enjoy their company. I'm thankful for the youngsters who still want to play games with their great-grandma.

I'm thankful for the granddaughter who looked forward to being home once again with us to celebrate Thanksgiving.

And I'm thankful for the little one who will be spending her Thanksgiving with us.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and all your family, Marilyn. I'm thankful that I am spending Thanksgiving with my entire immediate family - all in the same country and same state even, simultaneously, for the first time in 37 years!

Like I do with many folks, I met Morgen through the Internet when I learned about the great interviews she does. I thought it would be fun to turn the tables on Morgen and find out something things about her, so here goes: Morgen, except for the fact that you do terrific interviews I know very little about you. Today is My Birthday!

I never thought I'd live this long! The last few years, birthday celebrations have usually been a nice dinner out in a restaurant. Hard to do these days. Sometimes cake and ice cream is how we celebrate. This year my granddaughter, Melissa, is doing something special. She's taking her grandpa and me to a place about 1 1/2 hours away for lunch, called The Secret Garden. I've not only never been there, but I've never heard of it. I took a peek on the Internet and it looks like a beautiful place to celebrate most anything. Yes, I'm excited. I'll take pictures and report on it when I get back. Melissa is special. Everyone loves here, young and old alike. I was in the delivery room when she was born--exciting and wonderous. I babysat her many times until her mom and dad moved to Central California.
