One Big Reason I Keep Writing by Marilyn Meredith

Today I got the sweetest letter from a reader in New York.

She printed in capital letters, "I Love Your Books!" and underline her words.

She copied by hand the order form I have on my website and checked off the books she wanted, added the total and enclosed a check for the books and postage.

Now I know I need to order some books--I only have one book available that she wanted. I'm sending that one right off to her, but the other two will have to wait until I can get them ordered. That may be a problem.

I would like to order them from my publisher, but at the moment this isn't possible. I ordered from Amazon, but I don't know how long it will take to get a copy. I'll do my best, and if I can't get them, I'll refund the money for those two books.

When you receive a letter like that, you know that it's worthwhile to keep on writing.

Frankly, I was thrilled.

Meet Morgen Bailey from the UK

Like I do with many folks, I met Morgen through the Internet when I learned about the great interviews she does. I thought it would be fun to turn the tables on Morgen and find out something things about her, so here goes: Morgen, except for the fact that you do terrific interviews I know very little about you. Today is My Birthday!

I never thought I'd live this long! The last few years, birthday celebrations have usually been a nice dinner out in a restaurant. Hard to do these days. Sometimes cake and ice cream is how we celebrate. This year my granddaughter, Melissa, is doing something special. She's taking her grandpa and me to a place about 1 1/2 hours away for lunch, called The Secret Garden. I've not only never been there, but I've never heard of it. I took a peek on the Internet and it looks like a beautiful place to celebrate most anything. Yes, I'm excited. I'll take pictures and report on it when I get back. Melissa is special. Everyone loves here, young and old alike. I was in the delivery room when she was born--exciting and wonderous. I babysat her many times until her mom and dad moved to Central California.
