The New Year and my writing life

Though none of us really know what the future holds for us, we still make plans. And I'm right there with all the rest of you.

I've paid my dues for the three Sisters in Crime chapters I belong to as well as National, and my Mystery Writers of America dues. Though I plan to attend as many meetings as I can, I know that the most I'll go to will be the San Joaquin chapter in Fresno. I hope to get to at lease one or two of the Central Coast chapters meetings or events because I love to go over there and have many friends to catch up with. I probably won't get to the Los Angeles chapter,haven't been for a long time, but I enjoy their listserve and newsletter.

I'll be presenting to the San Joaquin chapter and have a great idea for my talk.

I've been asked to speak to the Springville Community Club about my books and writing. It's been a while since I've done that.


I'm hoping for more speaking engagements in 2018. 

My plans are to attend the PSWA annual writing conference, and whatever book and craft fairs that might come up.

As for my writing, I suspect the first four books in my Rocky Bluff P.D. series will be republished.
I hope to finish the newest one I'm writing.

Once that is done, I'll start researching for my next Deputy Tempe Crabtree mystery, and yes, I have some ideas for it.

We'll see how this all works out.

Meet Morgen Bailey from the UK

Like I do with many folks, I met Morgen through the Internet when I learned about the great interviews she does. I thought it would be fun to turn the tables on Morgen and find out something things about her, so here goes: Morgen, except for the fact that you do terrific interviews I know very little about you. Today is My Birthday!

I never thought I'd live this long! The last few years, birthday celebrations have usually been a nice dinner out in a restaurant. Hard to do these days. Sometimes cake and ice cream is how we celebrate. This year my granddaughter, Melissa, is doing something special. She's taking her grandpa and me to a place about 1 1/2 hours away for lunch, called The Secret Garden. I've not only never been there, but I've never heard of it. I took a peek on the Internet and it looks like a beautiful place to celebrate most anything. Yes, I'm excited. I'll take pictures and report on it when I get back. Melissa is special. Everyone loves here, young and old alike. I was in the delivery room when she was born--exciting and wonderous. I babysat her many times until her mom and dad moved to Central California.
