What I'm Working On--Old and New

The old is Deadly Trail which first came out from Hard Shell Word Factory years ago. It actually should have been first before Deadly Omen. When I approached the publisher for the series, she only wanted Deadly Omen, Unequally Yoked, Wing Beat, and Intervention. Mundania Press has done a bit of republishing, and soon they will all be republished and available. I've actually signed five new contracts with them.

I re-edited Deadly Omen and sent it off. Now I'm working on Deadly Trail. And yes, it does need re-editing. I'm not bringing it up to date with cell phones, etc., but taking care of my excessive us of ellipses and exclamation points. And because it is so old--I had to take care of double spaces after periods.

Both those books were written and saved in Word Perfect, so there have been other issues especially with the formatting--all of this is time consuming.

In the meantime, I'm also working on a new Deputy Tempe Crabtree mystery--and I have to at least write a chapter a week for two reasons, to keep my mind fresh on what I'm doing with this new plot and so I have something tor read to my critique group. 

So--I need to get busy, but I'll keep you posted.

And by the way, Happy Mother's Day! I have a beautiful bouquet of roses to enjoy and will be going to my favorite Japanese restaurant for dinner on Sunday.

Like I do with many folks, I met Morgen through the Internet when I learned about the great interviews she does. I thought it would be fun to turn the tables on Morgen and find out something things about her, so here goes: Morgen, except for the fact that you do terrific interviews I know very little about you. Today is My Birthday!

I never thought I'd live this long! The last few years, birthday celebrations have usually been a nice dinner out in a restaurant. Hard to do these days. Sometimes cake and ice cream is how we celebrate. This year my granddaughter, Melissa, is doing something special. She's taking her grandpa and me to a place about 1 1/2 hours away for lunch, called The Secret Garden. I've not only never been there, but I've never heard of it. I took a peek on the Internet and it looks like a beautiful place to celebrate most anything. Yes, I'm excited. I'll take pictures and report on it when I get back. Melissa is special.
