First Tidbit About Spirit Wind




You make recognize two of the names of the characters in Spirit Wind. 

Lorna Collins, the ghost hunter is back. She made her first appearance in Spirit Shapes. In the real world, Lorna is a great friend, a marvelous editor, and an author in her own right. My hubby and I met Lorna and her husband at a writers conference and saw each other and several more. We spent a fun weekend with them at their home.

Another name you might recognize is Madeline Gornell. Like Lorna, she won a contest to have a character named for her. I met Madeline for the first time at a book fair. We ran into each other at book conventions and conferences--and were roommates at one of them.

Neither of these characters have any physical resemblance to their namesakes. 

It's always fun to use a real name for a fictional character. 

I do hope you'll read about Lorna Collins and Madeline Gornell in Spirit Wind.

Today is My Birthday!

I never thought I'd live this long! The last few years, birthday celebrations have usually been a nice dinner out in a restaurant. Hard to do these days. Sometimes cake and ice cream is how we celebrate. This year my granddaughter, Melissa, is doing something special. She's taking her grandpa and me to a place about 1 1/2 hours away for lunch, called The Secret Garden. I've not only never been there, but I've never heard of it. I took a peek on the Internet and it looks like a beautiful place to celebrate most anything. Yes, I'm excited. I'll take pictures and report on it when I get back. Melissa is special. Interview with PSWA Member, Madeline Gornell

Marilyn: I'm so happy I've had the opportunity to really become acquainted with you. For the readers of this post, I first met Madeline at a book fair in Hanford, then again at the Sisters in Crime/MWA conference in Pasadena, and she came to last year's PSWA conference, and she came to my booksigning at my family reunion in Barstow and we were next to each other at a book fair in San Luis Obispo.
