Report on Deadly Omen Being Free

Now that is over, I thought you might be interested in a report on how having Deadly Omen free for five days went.

A bit of a background, I didn't use the major promotion of free books as they are picky as to who they promote and charge a huge amount of money. Instead, I went with several smaller promo sites, some free and others that charged a small amount to promote during the time period the book was free.

On Monday, the first day of the freebie, 315 copies had been downloaded, which made Deadly Omen #30 in cozy mysteries and #30 in Women Sleuths. (For those of you who don't know, the smaller the number the better when it comes to ranking on Amazon.)

Tuesday, 1016 copies had been downloaded, and Deadly Omen was #17 in cozies and #19 in Women Slueths.

Wednesday, the number was 1387 copies downloaded, and #16 in cozies, #15 in Women Sleuths.

Thursday, the total reached 1537.

Friday, at the end, the total was 1706.

It was a good run--now we'll see if it prompts anyone to purchase other books in the series.

I still think this was the right one to start with since many people like to read a series in order. Congrats! (When you launch the next one in the series, you can offer the short story free as a bonus.)

Sounds like you did very good without using one of the high paying advertisers. I haven't done a freebie in a while and considering which advertisers I should use this time. I can't afford BookBub even if they'd accept me. That only happened once. I sold a lot, but still didn't break even considering how much it cost, and now it's even more!
I know, Book Bub is out of the question for me too.
