Stealing the Scream by Theodore Carter

STEALING THE SCREAM BY Theodore Carter
(A Review)
What a surprise this book is! I had no idea what to expect when I began reading.

The main character, Percival, retires from his lucrative position of CEO, for various reasons. One he voiced as being to pursue other interests, though at the time he wasn’t sure what those other interests would be.

Lucinda who manages his home and in many ways his life, is much more than an employee though it takes a long time for either to realize the fact.

Though when Leonard, the art museum security guard is introduced, it isn’t clear what his role would be, but he turns out to be a most important character as the intricate and most unusual plot unfolds. Not only does Leonard guard the museum but he’s become a love of fine art.

Percival and Lucinda move to London. The home is renovated to include a secret room. Percival takes up painting and hires an instructor. In time, Percival is able to create amazing copies of the most famous paintings. The desire to have his paintings hanging in the most prestigious museums of art is where the book takes off on an intriguing tangent.

This is an amazing tale of a most complicated man and his strange journey in the world of art.

The author has a remarkable talent for describing paintings and people.

The story kept me turning pages because of the unexpected twists and turns. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to read something different, captivating, amusing and well-worth the time spent.

The book was given to me by the publisher to review.
