Origins of SMELL OF DEATH



 Smell of Death came from many different places. First the title because my cop son-in-law said no one shows you how bad dead people smell--and that was true way back when I wrote this book. Now that has been remedied in movies, books, and TV shows.

The strange burglaries were based on what was discussed at the police department when I was waiting to go on a ride-along. 

And this is the beginning of the romance between Officer Stacey Wilbur and Detective Doug Milligan as she helps him with two murder cases.

What helps solve the crime of the missing child is something that happened to me long ago while waiting to see a doctor. 

Of course this book is available on Amazon for Kindle and in paperback.

Today is My Birthday!

I never thought I'd live this long! The last few years, birthday celebrations have usually been a nice dinner out in a restaurant. Hard to do these days. Sometimes cake and ice cream is how we celebrate. This year my granddaughter, Melissa, is doing something special. She's taking her grandpa and me to a place about 1 1/2 hours away for lunch, called The Secret Garden. I've not only never been there, but I've never heard of it. I took a peek on the Internet and it looks like a beautiful place to celebrate most anything. Yes, I'm excited. I'll take pictures and report on it when I get back. Melissa is special. Everyone loves here, young and old alike. I was in the delivery room when she was born--exciting and wonderous. I babysat her many times until her mom and dad moved to Central California.
