Not Being a Best-Selling Author--
Over the years I'be never been a best-selling author. Some books have sold way more than others.
One of my best sellers has been Cooking for a Big Family and Large Groups. This particular book came from two self-printed cookbooks I wrote for administrators of community care homes. Too many had a month's menu and cooked that over and over.
When I had my car home for developmentally disabled women, I got bored cooking and eating so I tried all sorts of different recipes and started collecting them. I put the first book together and sold it to other administrators.
I kept on trying new recipes and soon had enough tor a second cookbook.
This book was written before crockpots and many other new ways of cooking. It's strictly top of the stove/oven cooking. The recipes are simple and the ingredients easily obtainable--certainly not gourmet.
My good friend and editor, Lorna Collins, suggested that both cookbooks could be put together and sold as one book on Amazon. She did all the hard work and her hubby designed the cover (their dishes and setting). Once again, thank you, Lorna and Larry.
The book has sold steadily, both in print and for Kindle since it was published.
Of all my books, it's definitely the best seller.
