2023 is right around the corner, folks, so save the dates and plan to come to our July conference. Also, we will have the return of our pre-conference workshop on July 13.

Conference fees 

Early Bird – $275 (register before May 1, 2023)

Full Price – $350 (registrations after May 2, 2023)

Pre Conference Workshop – $45

This is my favorite conference for mystery writers--get it right from those who live it. 

The conference includes a pre-conference get-together and two great lunches, plus a Satruday night award ceremony with snacks.

The hotel has special rates for the conference too.

Today is My Birthday!

I never thought I'd live this long! The last few years, birthday celebrations have usually been a nice dinner out in a restaurant. Hard to do these days. Sometimes cake and ice cream is how we celebrate. This year my granddaughter, Melissa, is doing something special. She's taking her grandpa and me to a place about 1 1/2 hours away for lunch, called The Secret Garden. I've not only never been there, but I've never heard of it. I took a peek on the Internet and it looks like a beautiful place to celebrate most anything. Yes, I'm excited. I'll take pictures and report on it when I get back. Melissa is special. Everyone loves here, young and old alike. I was in the delivery room when she was born--exciting and wonderous. I babysat her many times until her mom and dad moved to Central California. For the readers of this post, I first met Madeline at a book fair in Hanford, then again at the Sisters in Crime/MWA conference in Pasadena, and she came to last year's PSWA conference, and she came to my booksigning at my family reunion in Barstow and we were next to each other at a book fair in San Luis Obispo. My first question is, when did you first become interested in writing? Madeline: Hi, Marilyn, great being able to “talk to you” on your blog.
